MPM provided project management services for this Company’s renovations, transitioning an automotive component factory into a medical manufacturing facility. The initial project was temporarily halted due to COVID-related challenges. However, once the business case for the initial clean room project resumed, a smaller version of the clean room was launched, followed by six additional projects totaling over $28 million. The 60,000 SF medical manufacturing space was delivered on schedule, fulfilling the delivery timelines required by each of their clients end users despite the manufacturing delays caused by the COVID epidemic. This achievement was made possible through the implementation of an owner-operated, long-lead purchasing program, which allowed for the advance ordering of materials while the projects were still in the design phase. Throughout the construction of the clean rooms, the manufacturing process continued uninterrupted, producing automotive parts and other products requiring high cleanliness levels. Upon the projects’ completion, savings were returned to the owner’s capital expenditure (capex) budget through effective management of a guaranteed maximum price contract.
